Situation In Burma
Women, Children, and the elderly continue to be hunted by the Burmese military in what has been characterized as more instensive. Here in the U.S. we cannot imagine the audacity of a government to take long term military action against it’s own unarmed people. We assume that is what the United Nations is for and that this type of atrocity ended with WW2. Frankly we are busy with our own issues. So it is convenient to mutter “sucks..” and go arrange our iPod music, and worry about being unemployed.
But we are a nation of good. While we do not wish to meddle in other nation’s affairs, we do not turn a blind eye to human injustice. Yes the wheels of diplomacy run slowly, and it is easy to become frusterated with those in the UN, or the State Department who earnestly are doing what they can to affect change.
But how long do we wait while innocents are being hunted, killed, sold, and exterminated?
