this map of Burmese troop movements against villages of elderly men women and children gives you an idea of what is happening. The young men flee into the mountians to avoid, arrest, murder, or being inducted into the army to hunt their own people. The government denies this is happening. The UN and other governments simply say they are aware of the situation and are seeking diplomatic means to ask those in power to stop. In the meanwhile years go by and the killing does not stop, children being sold into slavery, villages burned down, and then mined, crops, animals and goods are stolen, pilfered and sold by the military, while the people starve.
If they attempt to fight back they are accused of insurgency against Burma and persecuted even harder, if they don’t they are slaughtered and imprisoned.
