During this time the Karen are very focused and quiet. Afterwards some are sad and nostalgic longing for their homeland.
I am very proud of these brave souls and excited for them to express themselves.
One of the ladies was extremely engaged and forced the interpreter to explain to me each detail of her village, from the duck pond to the the garden. She was so excited.
The other benefit is that the participants who are wholly engaged are excited about learning and writing the English words for what they are drawing.
